Light Radio for Indian Wireless Market?

If reports are to be believed, Alcatel-Lucent is exploring co-development of its Light Radio technology with Indian mobile operators that have permits for offering 4G services on LTE technological platform.
Light Radio is a palm-sized base station shaped like a cube that can reduce electricity consumption by 50 percent when deployed by telecommunications operators and can be strung to electricity poles or buildings.

Luckily its Not BSNL's Headache! Since BSNL bid and grabbed non standardized spectrum for BWA , LTE is forbidden for ever.So while Private Telcos move to more quality ,higher BW, more efficient , cheaper technologies BSNL will be playing fool around with Jumbo Nortel Antennas.

  1. This is a good technology for the future wireless broadband.BSNL has to get the standard spectrum for the future, otherwise the survival may be difficult.
